Paton-Churdan senior Danielle Hoyle won the Class 1A girls discus throw at the State Track and Field meet, becoming the first Rocket to be a state track and field champion in more than 30 years.
Hoyle claimed the title on her sixth and final throw with a winning toss of 130′ 11″. She was in fourth place going into final throws. She added 4 feet to her best previous throw with that final effort.
